Our Commitment to Privacy
Elf Hunter is designed with privacy in mind, especially because we know families and children use our app. We believe you shouldn't have to sacrifice privacy to have fun.
Information We Don't Collect
Elf Hunter does NOT collect or transmit to our servers:
- Personal information (names, emails, addresses)
- Location data
- Photos or videos from your camera
- Audio recordings from your microphone
- Device identifiers or tracking information
- Analytics or usage data sent to external servers
Camera & Microphone Usage
Elf Hunter requires access to your device's camera and microphone for the AR gameplay experience:
- Camera: Used to display the augmented reality view where elves appear in your environment. The camera feed is processed entirely on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted unless you choose to use the recording feature.
- Microphone: Used to detect ambient noise levels for the "stay quiet" gameplay mechanic. Audio is analyzed locally in real-time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Video Recording Feature
All users can record their elf hunting sessions. These recordings:
- Are saved directly to your device's Photos library
- Never leave your device unless you choose to share them
- Are entirely under your control
- Require your explicit permission before the first recording
Local Data Storage
The app stores the following information locally on your device only:
- Your elf capture count and toy collection progress
- Nice List tier and achievement data
- Chore ticket balance and cooldown timers
- In-app purchase and subscription status
- App preferences and settings
This data never leaves your device and can be deleted by uninstalling the app.
In-App Purchases
Elf Hunter offers optional in-app purchases including a monthly subscription and ticket packs, processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs these transactions.
Advertising
Elf Hunter includes optional rewarded video ads powered by Google AdMob. Important details about our ad implementation:
- Opt-in only: Ads are never shown automatically. Users must actively choose to watch a short video in exchange for a gameplay ticket.
- Child-directed treatment: All ad requests are tagged for COPPA compliance using Google's child-directed content settings. This means ads are age-appropriate and do not use personalized targeting.
- No behavioral tracking: We do not use ads to track, profile, or collect data about users.
- Daily limits: A maximum of 5 rewarded ad views per day are allowed.
- SKAdNetwork: Apple's SKAdNetwork framework is used for anonymous ad attribution, which does not identify individual users.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Elf Hunter is designed to be safe for children and is rated 4+. We:
- Do not collect any personal information from children or adults
- Do not require account creation
- Do not include social features or user-generated content
- Only include opt-in rewarded video ads that are tagged as child-directed and do not use personalized targeting
- Do not include links to external websites within the app (except this privacy policy and Apple's standard terms)
- Process all game data locally on the device
Third-Party Services
Elf Hunter integrates the following third-party services:
- Apple StoreKit: For processing in-app purchases and subscriptions. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob: For optional rewarded video ads, operating under child-directed treatment (COPPA). Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple SKAdNetwork: For anonymous, privacy-preserving ad attribution.
No other third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services are used.

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
